Protect it or lose it

Vote the Coast is a grassroots, political action organization whose purpose is to achieve coastal protection and conservation through knowledge, public education, a strategic assertion of power, forming alliances with other progressive causes and networking with environmental activists to develop a coordinated policy of coastal protection.
Vote the Coast supports those candidates for public office who are guided by the principles of ecological sustainability, environmental justice, public education, participatory governance, commitment and ideological integrity.
Vote the Coast was created to educate voters to the importance of the protection of California's fragile coastal resources and to let them know how their vote affects coastal protection up and down the coast from San Diego to Big Sur to Eureka.

A big Coastal Thanks
SB 1295 defeated in Committee
Please send thank yous to Senators Steinberg, Kehoe, Kuehl, Migden and Machado
all voted against SB 1295

The response was overwhelming and it worked-
Remember, together we CAN make a difference

This bill would remove 2 properties with 48 acres of undeveloped land with wetlands in the Coastal Zone from all environmental review to facilitate a 129 unit development. It bails out the City of Half Moon Bay which made a "settlement" with the developer that implements an appealable Federal Trial Court decision that ignores a State Court of Appeals ruling and sets out a path for future avoidance of all environmental laws.
