Legislative Report
Vote the Coast's annual Legislative Report details what legislation was introduced and by whom, who
voted for and against specific billis in committee, and who voted for or against a bill on the floor. It rates
legislators on their votes on important coastal legislation. We track the legislation as it moves through the
legislature because we believe that the true measure of a legislator's performance is more than just his or
her floor vote. Vote the Coast's Legislative Report consists of 3 parts. Part one consists of
legislationcarried; part two are the votes in committee; and part three, the floor votes. In both the floor and
committee votes, the percentage shown is the pro-coastal vote, i.e. the number of pro-coastal votes
divided by the total number of votes cast.

Our recent report includes information on the Governor and the bills he signed along with a summary of the
Pro-Conservation Voting Chart of the California Coastal Commission, prepared by the Sierra Club,
League for Coastal Protection and the Surfriders
